Verve Dance Studio is dedicated to the art of B-boying and Hip Hop culture. Verve was started in September of 2005 by Heather Russell and Shane Depree Fry of the Differential Flava Crew.
Since it’s start in 05 the school has transcended dance and has grown into a community center focused on educating through entertainment. using the elements of Hip Hop, B-boying, Djing, Mcing, and Graffiti, Verve Dance Studio teaches self expression, confidence and respect for diversity.
Verve Dance Studio has been the location for a number of art, music, dance and community awareness events. The most notable event held monthly at the school is Battle @ Buffalo. It is the city’s first all ages urban dance competition. People from all walks of life come to the school to dance, observe, talk, or just chill out. This event is the longest running B-boy / All Styles event in the country. Happening on the last Saturday of every month, since October 2006. The school has a positive energy and sense of community that is unparalleled in traditional dance or hip hop venues.
“It is our goal to educate through entertainment, developing confident and caring individuals who are actively engaged in their communities.” Heather Russell
