The Battle @ Buffalo anniversary jam was a blast!! All the area’s best B-boys and Funk Stylers showed up to get down and display thier skills. The night started off with DJ Simple spinning some classic joints while everybody got down in the open circles. After everybody was warmed up from the open cyphers,the competition started. The Funk Styleswere up first and went thru the brackets up until the semi-finals and then the same for Breaking followed.
As we rolled thru the semi’s for Both catagory’s We ended up with BIG ROOK VS. LUKE FLYWALKER for the finals to the Funk Styles Battle. It was a classic Buffalo show down as two of our city’s best dancers went head to head for the championship! The Battle showed the best of both dancers,they both really did thier thing, and in the end Luke Flywalker was declared the winner of the B@B anniversary jam. The Final battle for the B-boys was fire!!! We had ILL AT WILL VS. DEANS FOUNDATION,WE ACCEPT DONATIONS. The battle was high energy all the way thru..one of the highlights was a ridiculous power set from Pete Nasty that brought the crowd to thier feet. After ten rounds were complete, the judges voted for Deans Foundation. Each crew member won a ticket to Red Bull BC One in NYC on Nov 18th…should be an ill show.
Thanks to Red Bull for hookin us up with the jam and dope first place price. Iwould also like to thank the judges-J Rebel,Asian Hasellhoff,Funky Fungis,Tony-B and T-Money for a great job with the judging. Thanks to Carina and Stacy for holdin down the door. My man DJ Simple did his thing all night..the open circle set before the jam was really really dope man and the battles were all on point with the beats. Thanks alot man you always come thru! A shout out to Aids Community Services for showing up and educating people and promoting a helathy lifestyle. I would also like to thank all the crews and spectators that showed up for the jam,with out you there would be no Battle @ Buffalo.
Last but not least I would like to thank Skyline and Steve for filming the jam for me. Steve, I really appreciate you taking time to come down and film our jams for us,the videos always come out great! Thats going to wrap it up for the recap………P.S Im clearly not a writer, nor am i trying to be, I write what ever i feel at the moment and usally leave it the way it is.
